A few things happened today in Echo Park:

Scott Ave Gate

Regarding local residents’ concern over the opening of Scott Avenue gates for entry to Dodger games, the Echo Park Improvement Association urged local council members to keep the gate closed. In a letter to Council District 1 and Council District 13 Councilmen Gil Cedillo and Mitch O’Farrell, EPIA states “opening the gate will cause many unintended problems with the neighborhood and will not change stadium entry times in any way sufficient to justify the cost both in money and community good will.”

The letter also makes certain proposals, such as a request to the Dodgers to provide statistical data of how past entry to the stadium has been without the Scott Ave gate. More info.
