Echo Park power outage – approx. 784 customers without power until morning

Many Echo Park residents experienced a power outage at approximately 1:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014.

Happening simultaneously, the police department responded to a male screaming for help in the area of Montana and Lemoyne. A police chopper hovered the Echo Park area. The suspect was quickly apprehended–allegedly a drunk male causing a disturbance.

Nevertheless, one power outage was reported out by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. 784 people may be affected until Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. A dispatch crew was assigned (but not yet in route) by 2:30 a.m.

There is no indication that the two events had any relation.
