Manhunt for murder suspect keeps Echo Park and Westlake residents at guard

Around 9 p.m. on Monday, March 17 police officers were trying to make contact with a murder suspect at the intersection of Temple and Bonnie Brae streets in Los Angeles.

Residents began to report the hovering helicopter via social media, wondering what was going on in the neighborhood.

LAPD’s official twitter account sent out a tweet to announce the manhunt, asking everyone to stay indoors.

CBS also reported via KCAL 9 showing a bird’s eye view of the search (video). LAPD Rampart soon announced that the K- unit was searching door to door.

 

 

By 11:15, they reported that a suspect was detained.

 

 

According to LAPD, the detainee was not a murder suspect after all, but a convicted felon running from the police.
