The Fretted Frog says goodbye to Echo Park and announces moving sale (updated)

The Fretted Frog, a music shop currently located at 1200 N. Alvarado Street in Echo Park, Los Angeles, announced on Thursday that it plans to leave the neighborhood by June, 2014. Established in 2010, the guitar store offers acoustic guitar and banjo instruments, musical accessories, repairs, and music lessons and instructions.

The owners said that the cause of the move was recent problems with traffic and parking in the area, and announced their new location asĀ 1414 W. Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA. Their new space will include two instruction rooms, 14 parking spaces and nearly double the square footage they enjoyed for 4 years in Echo Park.

Updated: In an email to customers and fans in June 2014, they updated the date for the new location as being June 6, 2014.

The advertised hours will be Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9-5. Closed Sunday-Monday.
