Carlos Arellano benefit skate contest September 13 Garvanza Park

Friends and family of Carlos Arellano, the skateboard theft victim who died from stab wounds in Echo Park, have organized a benefit skate contest at Garvanza Park. The event is scheduled for September 13, 2014 from 2-6 p.m. There will be food, drinks, and raffle tickets, and the winner of the contest will go to the skater with the best trick in honor of Carlos Arellano. All proceeds will be donated to the Arellano family.

To date, investigators have not made an arrest for the killing of Carlos Arellano. The group of three men who attacked him fled up Echo Park Avenue and into different directions, according to witnesses.
